Villa Markisa is one of four exceptional villas that make up the Pandawa Cliff Estate – a hidden paradise located high above the ocean on Bali’s southernmost tip.
As the estate’s name suggests, the villas are positioned on the cliff top overlooking the golden sands of Pandawa Beach. This is spectacular, unadulterated Bali at its best: far from the hoi polloi of Seminyak and Kuta, yet less than half an hour’s drive from the airport and many of Bali’s top attractions, including the dramatically positioned sacred temple of Uluwatu and the fine dining establishments of Jimbaran and Nusa Dua.
Together, Villa Markisa, The Pala, Villa Rose and Villa Marie offer a total of 21 bedrooms, capable of sleeping 42 adults. This, coupled with the superbly landscaped cliff top gardens, extensive decked areas, huge team of professional yet personable staff, and purpose-designed guest facilities, makes The Pandawa Cliff Estate a wedding and special event venue par excellence. The four villas also share a sports center with a full-size tennis court, squash court, gym and spa.
Privacy is in no way compromised however, and each villa is sweetly secluded within its own extensive walled gardens. The five-bedroom, three-pool Villa Markisa has been designed to give optimum flexibility for multiple families and groups of friends holidaying together. Its accommodation is arranged as a pair of two-storey, two-bedroom, interconnecting ocean-vista apartments and a superb cliff-edge master suite – all three with living and dining areas, guest washrooms and a butler’s kitchen. While the garden living pavilion is the social heart of the villa, every guest appreciates the private living space that its intelligent layout delivers.
The villas are neatly maintained, inside and out, by a small army of housekeepers, gardeners and pool attendants, and kept safe by a team of diligent security staff, while three seven-seater cars with drivers are on standby for guests who wish to explore this delightful corner of the island of the gods.

Master Suites
Hidden out of sight from the rest of the villa, the cliff-front master bedroom at Villa Markisa enjoys spectacular views over its private bougainvillea-filled garden towards the ocean sparkling below. Antique furniture and colorful batiks decorate the room, which has a king-size bed, and seating area facing a 50-inch satellite channel TV.
The marble bathroom is equally spacious, with a walk-in dressing area, twin basins, rain shower enclosure and sea-view terrazzo bathtub. The bedroom opens onto an ironwood deck, where an upholstered loveseat sits before a large free-form swimming pool.
Guest Suites
All four air-conditioned guest bedrooms are furnished with split-king beds resting against upholstered batik headboards; each can be set up as a king or twins, giving added flexibility for different guest group configurations. Each bedroom has a seating area – whether a pair of high-backed Chinese chairs or a leather chaise longue – resting on the marble-edged teakwood floor. All enjoy enchanting ocean views; the upper-level rooms opening onto a glass-fronted balcony, and the two garden level bedrooms onto the pool decks.
The ensuite bathrooms are equally generous in size, with walk-in wardrobes/dressing areas, twin basins on marble vanities, monsoon shower enclosures, and statement bathtubs.

Event Facilities
Kitchen and Bar
Outside caterers are not permitted to use the villa’s bar and kitchen at any time. There is one commercial kitchen at the rear of Villa Markisa specially built for events, however caterers should bring their own cooking equipment if catering for a particularly large event.
If necessary, plating can be done outside this kitchen but the preparation area should be screened from view. Trucks may be unloaded from the path beside the kitchen but must not be parked there. Bars should be freestanding. EOs are advised to take appropriate measures to minimize the damage to the grass.
Guest Washrooms
Guest washroom is located in the garden . It is the responsibility of the EO to ensure the cleanliness of these washrooms during events.
Parking
The parking area is to be kept free for guest arrivals and departures. Vehicles are permitted for a one hour period for loading but should be off site at least one hour prior to the event. Trucks may be unloaded from the path beside the kitchen but must not be parked there.
Regulation & Restriction
Floating bamboo and foam structures for candles and flowers are allowed, however, EOs should ensure their removal by 1am or as soon as guests enter the pool in order to avoid any damage or injury.
Floating stage arrangement will require a refundable security deposit at US$ 4,000 which is payable in cash upon check in.
Marquees must be freestanding. Fireworks, Thai wishing lanterns and/or the release of balloons are strictly forbidden. Only one wedding will be allowed on the estate any one day.
