Yogyakarta

It was once Indonesia’s capital city between 4th January 1946 – 17th December 1949, Yogyakarta is regarded as an important centre for classical Javanese fine arts & culture such as ballet, batik textiles, drama, literature, music, poetry, silversmithing, visual arts, and wayang puppetry. As the only Indonesian royal city still ruled by a monarchy, Yogyakarta offers both natural & cultural wonders worth to explore. To name a few : Borobudur & Prambanan temples - Unesco World Heritage sites, Keraton Palace (royal family residence), the Batik Museum & Ramayana Ballet performance held at an outdoor stage with Prambanan Temple as the magnificent backdrop.
